Gerald Woon, Director

Mr Gerald Woon has more than 20 years of communications experience in the areas of Public Relations, Investor Relations, Corporate Communications and Marketing Communications. As a co-founder and director of Cogent, he has been involved in consulting for most of its IPO launches, IR activities and PR initiatives since its inception. Gerald also had a stint at a corporate finance firm and was involved in deal origination and fund-raising.

Gerald’s experience includes corporate finance, corporate advertising, publication production, global publicity and media relations, crisis communications, event management, exhibition management, broadcast and video production, government relations and protocol, internal communications and online initiatives.  Gerald was formerly Head, Marketing Communications at the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), looking after the needs of EDB and its clients in the electronics, chemicals, biomedical sciences, precision engineering, heavy engineering and services industries. At EDB, Gerald was a media liaison for several ministerial trips and worked on several Singapore Inc. initiatives, including bringing the first ever Forbes Global CEO conference to Singapore.

Gerald has worked with numerous MNCs, listed companies and SMEs on their communications, profiling their management, operations and business. He also has extensive experience in advising companies on crisis communications, and notably was involved in the corporate recovery of China Aviation Oil and a few other listed companies. Gerald is also an Independent Director of ASX-listed Northern Mining Limited.

Gerald holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree from Monash University and a Master of Science (Marketing) degree from National University of Singapore. In addition, he has also completed the Capital Markets & Financial Advisory Services (CMFAS) Module 4A – Rules and Regulations For Advising On Corporate Finance, and is a member of the EDB Society.


Alan Lockett, Consultant

Mr Alan Lockett has extensive experience in the resources sector and has been involved in the running and listing of mining companies. Alan has extensive corporate experience in strategic planning, IPOs, investor relations and project finance. His operational experience also includes locating mineral reserves, securing the required capital and setting up the infrastructure for commercial mining.

Alan started his career in Perth as an accountant for 11 years before he was appointed as Managing Director of a tourism property developer from 1984-1989. He was later a Principal at Lockett & Associates, a financial consultancy firm from 1990-1996, where he advised on accounting matters and conducted fund raising activities for small mining companies and individuals.

In 1997, Alan founded and was the largest shareholder of a company producing mineral sands and industrial garnet, which he later listed on the ASX in 2004. In 2006, he listed another ASX-listed company involved in gold exploration and was appointed its Executive Chairman.

Alan holds a Bachelor of Business degree from Curtin University.
